Through preparing for CARF accreditation, Total Quality Vision Consultants willassist service providers in improving the quality of their services, demonstrating value, and meeting internationally recognized organizational and program standards.
The CARF accreditation process starts with a provider’s commitment to continuous improvement and culminates with external review and recognition that the provider’s business and service practices meet international standards of quality — with all the steps in between focused on optimal outcomes for the persons the provider serves and sustained organizational success. The accreditation process applies sets of standards to service areas and business practices during an on-site survey. Accreditation, however, is an ongoing process, signaling to the public that a service provider is committed to continuously improving services, encouraging feedback, and serving the community. Accreditation also demonstrates a provider’s commitment to enhance its performance, manage its risk, and distinguish its service delivery.

PREA Accreditation with TQVC
The Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA) was unanimous support from both parties in Congress signed into law by President George W. Bush on September 4, 2003. The law (P.L. 108-79) seeks to eliminate sexual abuse in correctional facilities by setting standards for the physical space and for the training, assignment, and conduct of personnel in the facility. All public and private prisons, jails, lock-ups, community corrections, and juvenile detention facilities must meet the PREA standards. A state is in compliance when prison facilities under its operational control meet the PREA standards.
The goal of PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) is to prevent, detect and eliminate sexual abuse, and sexual harassment of residents in correctional facilities; this includes resident on resident and staff on resident.
All confinement facilities covered under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards must be audited at least once during every three-year audit cycle to be considered compliant with the PREA standards, with at least one third of each facility type operated by an agency, or private organization on behalf of an agency, audited each year of the three-year audit cycle. These include adult prisons and jails, juvenile facilities, lockups (housing detainees overnight), and community confinement facilities, whether operated by the Department of Justice or unit of a state, local, corporate, or nonprofit authority.
Each agency seeking PREA compliance will be responsible for contracting with or otherwise securing the services of one or more DOJ-Certified Auditors to schedule audits for each of its facilities during the three-year audit cycle.
Demetrius Henderson is a DOJ PREA Auditor Certified and have passed all FBI background checks. He is an auditor with 18 years of experience and knowledgeable. Total Quality Vision Consultants will also be responsible for developing a corrective action plan for the facility, in the event the facility does not meet all standards of compliance. All documentation will be reviewed for completeness by another auditor prior to the submission of the final report.
